450 / 39 M.R.N.S.Mogumber 2nd May, 1944 450 / 39 STAMP: (DEPARTMENT OF NATIVE AFFAIRS, -5 MAY, 1944) STAMP: (NATIVE AFFAIRS RECORDS INWARDS 8 MAY 1944 OUTWARDS 8 MAY 1944) The commissioner of Native Affairs. PERTH. In answer to your letter of the 18th April respecting the question of evening church services at the Settlement. I might point out that I have just received this letter by enclosed envelope you will see that it was forwarded to Const. Hulin of Mullewa in error. The whole question of evening church service reverts to the lack of supervision on the part of the late Superintendent, it is no trouble for staff who are on duty to return the girls to the dormitory, each member of present staff is quite willing to take a turn at assisting, I find that in past the Trackers have had very little support from the Supt. At present I consider that Sister Eileen is doing a splendid job and willing to co-operate in every way possible. Hereunder is a list of services and welfare work being carried out by Sister Eileen, Confirmation Classes Monday and Wednesday mornings 6-15 am. Tuesday Evening. Gym Classes for elder girls. Wednesday Evening Church Service. Thursday Evening, Choir Practice. Friday Evening, Cubs. Tuesday Afternoon, Sewing Classes for Camp Women, you will see by the above list that Sister Eileen is doing quite a lot of general Settlement Welfare work as well as holding church service. J.H. Bisley A/g Inspector STAMP: (NATIVE AFFAIRS RECORDS 17 MAY 1944 FILE) For CNM's information on 16/5/44 Needed no action (?signature?) 16.5.44 (Side margin notes (left)???????)
