122 B.PH. 450/39 18th April, 1944 A/g Inspector J. H. Bisley, Moore River Native Settlement, MONGUMBER I should be pleased to have your comments on the attached copy of letter from Mr. Leeming respecting the question of evening church service at the Settlement. The subject is a contentious one, and hitherto I have hesitated to fall in with the views of Mr. Leeming because of an impression that the matter might not be diplomatically handled and because I had no wish to inconvenience Sister Eileen's welfare work in any way. However, since Mr. Leeming has now left the Settlement, it occurs to me that the way is now clear for an amicable discussion with Sister Eileen, and should be pleased if you would consult her on the statements made by Mr. Leeming and advise me of the result in due course. Signature COMMISSIONER OF NATIVE AFFAIRS.
