111 AB/F 450/39 8th April, 1943. Deaconess E. Heath Moore River Native Settlement. via MOGUMBER. Dear Sister Eileen, Referring to your letter of the 18th ult., I wish to advise you that I have no objection to the follow- ing natives being instructed for Baptism in the Anglican Faith : - Molly Toomala Warbinna alias Rosie Hector I think, however, that Coral Kennedy, Nonie Ken- edy, and Howard Gordon should be Baptised as Roman Catholic. Their Mother was a Roman Catholic and since the elder child- ren are Roman Catholic also, it seems to me that it would be unwise for remainder to be baptised in any other faith. Regarding the native woman Jinny, I happen to know Mr. Kilfoyle of Rosewood Station, whence Jinny came, is a very strong Roman Catholic, and I feel sure that he would be very unhappy to hear that Jinny had been baptised in any other faith. In these circumstances, therefore, I do not think it advisable to agree to Jinny's being baptised in the Anglican Faith. Yours faithfully, (?signature?) COMMISSIONER OF NATIVE AFFAIRS (Numerous date / file / action stamps)
