Sister Eileen has challenged me on the grounds of my allowing five native girls going for a walk on Sunday morning. - Three of these girls belong to her fiath (C. of E.) I questioned the girls prior to them going and they stated that they had no intention of going to church in the morning. I advised them to go but they stated that even if they were not allowed to go for a walk that they had no intention of going to morning church - under the circumstances I allowed the girls to go. It was a nice day and I consider that a little freedom away from the Settlement on their days off is most beneficial to their future work - also keeping them away from the men at the camps.
