95 D.C.N.A. Please see letter hereunder wherein Sister Eileen asks that permission be given for the following natives to be presented for baptism when they are qualified :- Delia Dann. Three-quarters black, aged 17 years. On the 18th August, 1938, permission was given for Delia's baptism. Evident- ly she was not baptised at the time, so I presume the permission still holds good. Hester Corbett. Five-eighths native blood, aged 15 years. Hester was committed to the care of the State on 24.3.42 and transferred from Busselton to the Mt. Lawley Receiving Home. On the 7.4.42. she was transferred to the Moore River Native Settlement. I have written to her parents, Frank Cor- bett, half-caste, and Leah Newell, three- quarters native blood, to ascertain whether they are agreeable to Hester's baptism. Topsy. Full-blood, aged about 19 years. Topsy was removed from Twin Peak Station on the 3.10.41. on the recommendation of the Manager, who anticipated trouble be- tween the natives if she was not removed. Topsy's father, Wingo, full-blood, originally gave her to a native named Bertie and then later to two other natives and this led to complications on the Station. It is hardly likely that Topsy followed any religion prior to proceeding to Moore River and, in any case, she is now of an age when she should know her own mind in regard to such matters. Do you agree to her baptism, please. Ronnie. Full-blood, age unknown. Ronnie was recently involved in the pro- secution under Section 46 against the white man George Ridd. She was sent to Moore River Native Settlement on 28.5.42. Her Father, Peter, full-blood, is deceased and her mother, Maggie, is somewhere in the Cundeelee district. Do you approve of her baptism, please?. (Signature) ? Bishop 24th July, 1942 AB/F (Written response on bottom of memo:) I approve of baptisms but we must await advice from family of Hester Corbett. Signature 24.7.42.
