88 JC/F 450/39 16th January, 1942. The Superintendent, Moore River Native Settlement, MOGUMBER. I have received advice from Mr. Wright of the United Aborigines' Mission, Gnowangerup, that Bessie Yorkshire has no objection to her son, Reggie Yorkshire, fol- lowing the Anglican Faith. Would you be good enough to pass this information on to Sister Eileen. COMMISSIONER OF NATIVE AFFAIRS JC/F 450/39 16th January, 1942. Constable A. McCaskill, Protector of Natives, NORTHAMPTON. You will remember writing me on the 23rd November last regarding the children Margaret and John Oxenham, inmates of the Moore River Native Settlement. I desired to know whether Charlie Oxenham had any objection to his children being baptised in the Church of England and you advised me that Oxenham's wife was a Roman Catholic and that fact might influence him in the matter. Have you been able to interview Oxenham recently? If not, I should be glad if you would kindly do so when possible as I wish to ascertain his views regarding the religion which his children are to follow. COMMISSIONER OF NATIVE AFFAIRS (Stamped: File brought up for Action or Instruction 17 Feb 1942) (Stamped: 16 / 5 / 45 )
