79 JC/B. 450/39 2nd October, 1941 Sister Eileen, Moore River Native Settlement MOGUMBER. Dear Sister Eileen, In regard to the following inmates, whom you desire to baptise or confirm in the Anglican Faith, particulars are given as under:- Keith Drage (or Keith Morgan). His mother follows the Roman Catholic Faith and wishes her boy to do likewise. I must object to his baptism in the Anglican Faith. Evelyn Jones. Her mother claims to be a Protestant. She discarded the child who was removed to the Moore River Native Settlement. I have no objection to her baptism in the Anglican Faith. Bill Clarke. His parents object to the boy's baptism as it would interfere with his tribal customs. However, he has now returned to Meka Station and no further action is required respecting him. Lena Hedland (correct name is Lena Barr). I have written to the Station from whence this girl came to try to ascertain whether she or her mother followed any religion before her removal. I am awaiting a reply before advising you in regard to baptism. Margaret Oxenham & - I am arranging to have their father John Oxenham consulted before agreeing to their baptism. Reggie Yorkshire - I am arranging to have the parents consulted before agreeing to this boy's confirmation. Jim Dempster. - The parents of this boy are both dead. However, they were legally married in the Methodist Church, so I have no objection to this boy's confirmation in the Anglican Faith. Hugh Berach. This boy was baptised in the Anglican Faith at the Moore River Native Settlement on 4.5.1938, so I have no objection to your presenting him for confirmation. Yours faithfully, Signature COMMISSIONER OF NATIVE AFFAIRS.
