77 450/39 Meka Station Yalgoo 14/9/41 Date Stamp: Department of Native Affairs, 16 Sept. 1941, Perth, W.A. The Commissioner of Native Affairs Perth Dear Sir Re Native Boy Bill - 450/39 Further to my letter of 3/9/41. I have to advise that I have interviewed the parents of Bill regarding his baptism in the Anglican Faith. This parents wish to state their strong opposition to his baptism, which they consider will inpair his adherence to tribal customs and pratice which they desire he should follow. They wish Bill to return to them as soon as possible in order that he may receive tutelage in certain tribal observances which they wish him to follow. In order that I may pass the information on to them, will you please advise me when it is likely Bill will be able to return to his parents. I would appreciate an early reply. Yours truly P. Maxwell. Manager, Meka Station. Hand written on bottom of letter: dealt with his personal file. He has now returned to Meka. 2/10/41 Date Stamp: NATIVE AFFAIRS RECORDS INWARDS 17 Sept. 1941, OUTWARDS 18 Sept. 1941.
