During these four days we have been ashore the waste of war is incredible wherever one goes is Arms Kits accoutrements & Cartridges abandoned by our people. (Some little by Turks) probably by men dead & wounded by the Covering party who threw them off when making their first attack. I.G.G.s have great difficulty in observing result of fire owing to difficult nature of country very much broken up & Scrubby & intensity of Enemys Shell & Rifle fire.
