Train arrived camp 2 p.m. met by Maj Anderson. Went into matters concerning 'Div' Art & got strength of the situation & what had occurred during my absence in the way of promotions & appoint-ments. Called on G.O.C. Brgd Gen Chauval at 4 p.m. & discussed what had taken place in regard to the Div. cut during my absence. Wednesday 26th Saw Col. Rosenthal with regard to seniority & as to who took charge of Div Art in my absence. I would not give any decision but promised that justice would be done to those concerned if & when necessary to make an appointment. Saw G.O.C. 1st Aust Div. with regard to Officers leave - he could give me no decision. Also other matters concerning Div Art & training of Reinforcements. I asked that present arrangements be allowed to remain as they were - he agreed. Saw Captains Crespin & Regail with regard to their protests of being supersceded. I told them their promotions in the future laid with themselves, that in the event of their being qualified they would get their promotions when vacancies occurred, In Afternoon inspected the 3 Bdes of Artillery in their lines. find great quantity of Stores Equipment Wagon (Amm) & Limbers also Guns necessary to make good losses at Gallipoli.
