'X' Frizes picked up indicate Gun is shelling us with 21 cm at a range of 20000 X 24 c.m. at 27500 X March 1st Fine clear day. Saw Maj McClean lately comg. 5th D.A.C. (with C.R.A.) told him I could not recommend his reqt for pro rank as L'. Col. White comg. D.A.C. as no necessity for it. Offered him comd of Sect in D.A.C. if services satisfactory would recommend him for command of D.A.C. when vacancy occurs. Gave Instructions to G.O.C. 8th Inf. Bde re. attack on Enemy in SUNRAY trench. March 2nd. (misty but fine) To G.O.C. 8th Infy.
