Monday. June 18th - very hot & close again RUBEMPRE Inspecting Transport etc of 15th Infy Bde. & Signal Coy. at RUBEMPRE in morning. 'X' At noon to see Tank demonstration in connection with Infantry attack - 12 Tanks took part in the show which was very interesting (show near ARRAS Inspected the beautiful old town now ruined June 19th Fine partly thunderstorm in afternoon In Afternoon out riding to try & find training grounds. June 20th Beautiful Morning Wet Afternoon & evening 7.a.m By Car to near WARLOY to see concentration operation & Route March of 14th Bde. fairly satisfactory. Gen White called about noon June 21st Fine much cooler left at for AVEULEY to see Corps of 8th Bde "trying out" in Tactical exercise for Coys. Competition - & also to inspect range & approve of arrangements for final competition. C.R.A. called to see me in connection with Art move re relief of 5th D.A. which I told him would take place about 28th inst. June 22nd Showery in morning fine in afternoon & evening. 9.a.m. Inspecting 15th F Amb at CONTAY. 14th F Amb. at WARLOY 8th F Amb. at SENLIS. all satisfactory Col. HEARNE A.D.M.S. accompanied me.
