I spoke about trouble between two branches & told them I must look to them to see that in the interests of the Division & Service harmony & perfect cooperation at all times prevailed. July 21st Fine day. To HERISSART. Saw 54th Bn at work Went to Range & discussed the CORBIE march & promised to arrange for Bn to go to AVELUY to do field firing exercise.
Saw Gen HOBKIRK at Bde. H.Qs. RUBEMPRE at about 10.15. am (they appeared to have just finished breakfast.) discussed CORBIE march In afternoon called on Maj WOODS comdg 55 Bn discussed CORBIE march with him. (also went with him to D.H.Q & got him marquee instead of Room with its filthy surroundings that he now occupies - To 15th F. Amb Concert in Evening most excellent show. July 22nd perfect day- Maj KING G.S.O.2. returned from leave in PARIS 10.a.m. Attended Church parade of Roman Catholics at R.C church RUBEMPRE. excellent & stirring address by R.C. Padre KENNEDY D.S.O. especially dealing with lust for women & drink. Visited L'. Col. FRANCIS Comdg Div Train & L'. Col. CROWSHAW Comdg 53rd Bn. Attended Parade of 14th Bde at HERRISSART.
