I also explained the various points to be studied, works policy, system of defence etc. Afterwards visited O/C 60th Bn. Nov. 26th Fine clear bright day. In morning visited A/ G.O.C. 8th Infy Bde. at WULVERGHEM. all satisfactory then visited Camps of 30th & 32nd Bns near Bde H.Qs. & Bde. Batts. In Afternoon inspected RAMILIES & LINDENHOEK Camps occupied by 60th & 59th Bns & ROSSIGNOL by 57th. I complained about fire appliances not being as ordered for fire precautions issued some time ago, & of fires being allowed without proper precautions in Huts I especially cautioned Majs Scanlon & Aitcheson. Afterwards called on O/C 58th Bn at KEMMEL went through various points to be observed with regard to the forthcoming occupation of line by his Bn Then visited Y.M.C.A. place Officers Club & Theatre at KEMMEL L'. Col. STEWART A/ G.O.C. Bde was with me. 'X' Col Stewart reported to me about 2 men being killed 8 wounded by Coy H.Qs being given away by a visiting party of 59th Bn who went there contrary to orders, & after being cautioned. Nov. 27th Wet rough night wet all morning cleared in afternoon Visited 15th F. Amb. at DRANOUTRE 14th at LOCRE & M.D.S. 8th Field Amb YONGEST. accompanied by A.D.M.S. did not see Horse lines of 8th & 15th all quite satisfactory. In afternoon to G.O.C. 14th Infy Bde. at Bde H.Qs. about withdrawing posts & alteration in part of front line. G.O.C to send us particulars. Then visited Pioneer Camp at PECKHAM.
