at Theatre extended his leave 2 days. Sept. 12th Fine day. To Dentists & A.I.F. in morning saw Griffiths & Howse. X Had lunch with Col. & Mrs Buckley at Junior United Service Club. Saw Connolley in Afternoon. Called on Mr. Hughes at his Residence at Hampstead (in morning) Sept. 13th Fine day. Went on the River in the morning with Wife & Girls. In afternoon to A.I.F. to dentist. Saw Sir Newton Moore afterwards & met C. & J. Temperley at Burlington Club afterwards & also saw young Reid & arranged to attend Sir George Reids funeral on Tuesday. Sept. 14th Showery. In morning to A.I.F saw Griffith & Howse then went by ? car with Col. Buckley to lunch at WELWYN & to see Aust. Officers in Hospital there & at DIGSWELL Col. Acklands place adjoining. Saw L'. Col. McArthur Comg. 29th Bn at Col. Buckleys House. Officers are very well done at both these Houses & I thanked the people responsible for their great kindness to our Officers. returned to Richmond at 6 p.m. - Good day. Sept. 14th Showery. To St. Matthias Church, Richmond in morning with Wife & Dorothy. Sept. 15th Fine day. To London. Saw Kelsey at 12/30 then went to Press Representatives form Dominions at Savoy Hotel as Mr. Connollys (Agent General for W.A) guest. Mr. Balfour was present & spoke on the Australian Peace Offer Saw & spoke to Gen Sir Edward Hutton Afterwards visited Sir Harry Barrow at Army & Navy Club. 62.
