July 1839 Monday 1st Finer. Allison draining. 2 lbs Raisins to him for Corporal Sullivan Tuesday 2nd Showery. Pole calved (a Bull calf) Vernon Bussell got 71 lbs Barley gross weight 1 Bottle Wine Bletchington & 1 Allison who was at work. Unfortunately this morning little Tiger was hurt on the left thigh. The Corporal returned with Melaney to Augusta. Wednesday 3rd Heavy rain all day. Allison was about but certainly not at work. I churned and evaporated Salt Thursday 4th Fair. Not very well. Mrs Ommaney here in the evening 1 Bottle Wine Bletchington Friday 5th Fine. Drying salt Vernon Bussell here 13 lbs Sugar gross weight to Allison. 1 Bottle Wine Do. Took the 1/2 bag of American flour Saturday 6th Continued Rain all day. Allison & Bletchington Kangaroo hunting. 1 Bottle Wine Bletchington Brown returned from Mr Knight's 1 Bottle Wine to him Sunday 7th Fine. Service. Walked after dinner Monday 8th Fine Washing. Borrowed 4 milk dishes from Mrs Ommaney. Tuesday 9th Very fine. Gardening for the first time Brown Kangarooing and lost 2 Sent some flower seeds to Mrs Ommaney Mr Lawson here to tea. Wednesday 10th Continual rain Welsh returned from Augusta & brought letters from Capt & Mr Cole. Commenced putting butter in barrel which weighed 6½ lbs. Lent Miss Bussell 6 childrens books.
