To the Honorable RICHARD GOLDSMITH BURGES, M.L.C., J.P.; ROBERT EDWIN BUSH, Esq., J.P.; DAVID FORREST, Esq., M.L.A., J.P.; CHARLES HARPER, Esq., M.L.A., J.P.; WILLIAM THORLEY LOTON, Esq., J.P.; ALEXANDER ROBERT RICHARDSON, Esq., J.P.; and FREDERICK FRANCIS BURDETT WITTENOOM, Esq., J.P.

WHEREAS it is desirable that a Commission be appointed to inquire into the rabbit question, to consider the best means of effectually dealing with the rabbit plague, and to devise some measure to stop the advance of rabbits into the settled portions of the State: NOW THEREFORE I, SIR ALEXANDER CAMPBELL ONSLOW, Knight, Administrator as aforesaid, do hereby appoint you, the said Honorable Richard Goldsmith Burges, M.L.C., J.P.; Robert Edwin Bush, Esq., J.P.; David Forrest, Esq., M.L.A., J.P.; Charles Harper, Esq., M.L.A., J.P.; William Thorley Loton, Esq., J.P.; Alexander Robert Richardson, Esq., J.P.; and Frederick Francis Burdett Wittenoom, Esq., J.P., for the purpose of inquiring into and reporting upon the matters aforesaid; and I do hereby desire and request that you do, as soon as the same can conveniently be done (using all diligence), report to me, in writing, your proceedings in virtue of this Commission: And I do appoint you the said ROBERT EDWIN BUSH, Esq., J.P., to be the Chairman of the said Commissioners.
